Vedant Parekh

Vedant Parekh is a 3rd-year undergraduate Engineering student pursuing a major in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Mechatronics at the University of Calgary. He is an international student from Nigeria. He is extremely passionate about Mathematics and Physics, the major reasons he chose to do Mechanical Engineering. He was especially interested in working with Dr. Abbasi because of her background in Mechatronics and to understand how Engineering is applied in the real world. He is fascinated by the idea of automation and seeks to change the world by using automation to make our lives more sustainable. His role on the team is to assist Dr. Abbasi in designing the apparatus to facilitate the research and make it as convenient as possible.   Aside from his academics, Vedant loves getting involved in several technical clubs which help him utilize his acquired theoretical knowledge to build tangible designs. He also volunteers with Stars for Scholarly Youth to assist highschool kids with their academics. He is an avid reader, and outside the world of academia, his hobbies include painting, swimming, and skating.
