Payal Wadodkar is a 3rd year undergraduate student, pursuing a major in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Aerospace at the University of Calgary. She is very inquisitive about the Sciences and Math and she chose Engineering as it combined the best of both worlds and had numerous real-life applications. She was captivated by Dr. Abbasi’s research regarding the various applications of sensors and wanted to assist her in making these groundbreaking innovations. She is very passionate about the aerospace industry and seeks to integrate the developing automation to make aviation and aerospace sectors more efficient and accessible. She led a student team collaborating with the Canadian Space Agency, in 2016 to design and launch a space probe that could sense everything from temperature to humidity. Alongside her academics, Payal actively participates in various technical clubs at the University of Calgary to develop fascinating projects. She also tutors kids and helps guide them through school and what their future prospects could be. She loves reading books and spends her free time with her dog, Curly.
